EMT Recertification Procedure

NJ EMT Recertification

To renew your NJ EMT card you need to complete 24 core CEUs and 24 elective CEUs over a 3 year period. All recertification EMT-Bs must complete a 2 page recertification form within 6 months prior to your expiration date. The form requires that you answer several questions and list all of the DHSS-OEMS approved CEU programs you have completed during your 3 year certification period. The new form can be found on the LMS system and should be submitted to OEMS only after you have completed your 48 CEUs and it is within 6 months of your expiration date. You can find out how many CEUs that you have been credited for at the LMS system. You can also register for the classes at the LMS system.

To get 2 elective CEU's for your Healthcare Provider CPR card you need to copy the front and back of your current card and send this with your name, address and phone number to: NJ DOH and SS, Attn: Bonnie, PO Box 360, Trenton, NJ 08625-0360. Make sure you state this is for the 2 CEU credit for CPR. You can only do this once during your recertification period (3years).
