Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) are specially trained to treat people who are ill or injured, then transport them to the hospital.  EMT certification is required to work at any level in the pre-hospital environment. 

The EMT training program offered at Community Safety Consultants (CSC) will teach the life saving skills students will need to become a NJ State EMT.  Our program meets the National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards set forth by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

This hybrid program includes independent on-line reading (will need access to a computer), classroom lecture and practical training, plus 10 hours of clinical time. Upon successful completion of this program, students will be eligible to take the NJ State DOH examination for certification.  When they pass this examination they can begin a career in emergency medical services, saving lives.

Attendance at all classes is mandatory!

A current professional level CPR card is a prerequisite to take the EMT program.  This CPR training can be taken through Community Safety Consultants as well.

Hunterdon County Training Fund policy:  Students who use this Training Fund must pass the class and successfully become EMTSs before the county will reimburse them for the class fees. Therefore, students and EMS agencies must pay the class fees to Community Safety Consultants prior to the start of the course.

Prerequisites: Current CPR card at the BLS Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer level
